This article is dedicated to all law enforcement officers locally, nationally, and internationally. I honour and support their selfless acts of courage, strength, and bravery during National Police Week and beyond, as they are sacred guardians that protect us. The leaders of the force are like generals that stand beside their men and women on the front lines, no matter what the terrain or obstacle. The force to these leaders are their family, their roots, what makes them complete and whole. Not only do they stand with their men and women but they stand with those that they are entrusted to protect, leading by example. They encompass Rudyard Kipling’s philosophical perspective, to walk with kings, while maintaining the common touch, never losing their vision for what is right. The force teaches us that we cannot forget our roots, that family emerges beyond biological roots, that every individual’s voice is powerful, and that presence holds inherent worth, as all are equal, one, and united. Officers consistently and constantly demonstrate that they unite as one to serve and protect for the greater good of all. Our sacred guardians remind us to be the change that is required, to unite not divide, as they lead by example. Many officers within the force are guardians and lightworkers with higher responsibilities and duties. Their specific areas of expertise allow for a stronger and safer community. Having been given the monumental task of not only managing life, while dealing with the complexities of work, they selflessly sacrifice and dedicate their time to help those in need. Be mindful of the atrocities they have encountered, seen, or endures, and the images and aspects of life that have impacted them on a profound level. Please remember, those in uniform are someone’s Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, Partner, Friend, Parent and Child. We all are united as a collective, and we all need to respect one another with compassion, care, kindness, and respect. We all are essential, hold inherent value and worth, and envision dreams of a better future. As a diverse sacred community, we all hold the power to anchor our collective light for peaceful resolutions and restoration. As officers, and many citizens know, to be the change that you wish to see, you need to have a purpose, an inner light, something that propels you to be the best version of yourself in every waking moment. Never lose hope, never be disconnected from what matters the most, and most importantly never lose heart in all matters. We are all united as one, and with time and patience, no matter what we face as a community, we will always grow towards a safer peaceful state. As a collective, we all are working in tandem with one another to achieve peace. We all have one goal in common, which is to help and assist humanity, as we journey through life. Thank You to all officers and first responders that selflessly dedicate their lives every day to protect us and uphold the law. We honour you this week and beyond, for all you stand for, and do for us as a community. Please know you are always protected, loved, and we value your service and courage to keep all of us safe. I stand in solidarity with first responders, law enforcement, officers, and their respective staff and families, as I honour and recognizes all of them as sacred Guardians of the Light. I am deeply appreciative of their selfless bravery, sacrifice, dedication, strength, focus, and unwavering commitment to their respective communities on a local, national, and international scale. As a survivor of sexual assault, I respectfully express my sincerest gratitude to those that seek and preserve peaceful resolutions, while maintaining law, order, peace, order, and justice. By granting and providing a safe environment and space for survivors to voice their experiences, concerns, and suggested methodologies which can save a life, enhances the healing process, ensures that silence, apathy, indifference, and hatred are addressed in a peaceful and diplomatic manner, while enabling all to reclaim their sovereignty, autonomy, power, and inner peace within, by standing in their authentic sacred truth without the force or influence of powerless fear. To obtain good governance, it is essential that accountability, transparency, respect, fairness, kindness, and communication are prevalent within the healing, restructuring, rehabilitation, and recovery process. By engaging in humanitarian acts of peaceful advocacy, survivors contribute their empowered voices, to further the efforts of research, education, awareness, reconciliation, forgiveness, advocacy, and policy reform, to foster sustainability while fostering a stronger foundational core of ethical and moral frameworks. The nature of abuse is asynchronous and non-linear, therefore, by addressing the embedded scars of deprivation, despair, loss, anger, neglect, and abandonment, a survivor then becomes an emancipated beacon of hope for others. Survivors must rise from the destruction of the past through the power of unconditional love, forgiveness, and release. By addressing core roots, and soul core wounds, recovery then becomes restorative empathetic compassion for all, which provides and facilitates safer environments for past, present, and future generations. We are all archetypes of peace, ambassadors of empowerment, and catalysts of change, through our collective acts of solidarity, unity, peace, inclusion, and reconciliatory measures, which enables restorative justice for all. I stand with law enforcement, first responders, and the justice system, as I honour their strength as they protect all citizens within their care.
